Rescued Dogs, Rescued People describes the passion in David Greenwald’s life, work, and writing. Greenwald will provide insights into his motivation and inspiration for his writing at T.B. Scott Free Library on Sunday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.
Greenwald, an upstate New York native, and now a Michigan resident, has not only set his canine adventure novels in multiple locales—he’s placed the residence of his human and canine heroes in Lincoln County, Wisconsin! At his presentation, Greenwald will explain how and why he’s cast his heroes as Cheeseheads.
David’s background and passion for dogs, and his work in training guide dogs for the sight-impaired, has provided material and inspiration to write the Jenny Dog & Son of Light novels: Frozen Moon, Cody, and the forthcoming Wichita Mountain Manhunt. Greenwald will have copies of his books available for sale and signing at the presentation.
Not only does Greenwald’s love for dogs give you his critically acclaimed stories to read—you have an opportunity to support your own animal-loving charity! David has a contest underway to find two dogs to represent Jenny-Dog and Buck, the canine heroes of his novel Frozen Moon. Enter your dog in the contest at www.jennydog.com. If your dog is chosen, Greenwald will award $500 to a nonprofit animal rescue, service dog or search & rescue organization of your choice!
Every place has a story; every dog has a legacy. For an intimate presentation on David Greenwald’s passion for dogs and writing, attend the Sunday October 26th program at T.B. Scott Library. The program is part of the library’s Words Worth Hearing series, free to the public, and with refreshments by The Checkered Churn and First Street Coffee Station.
As an added bonus, the Friends of the Library have agreed to add a Bonus Day to their Fall Book Sale! On Sunday afternoon, you’ll be able to browse and purchase books in the Community Room.
