LCHS Opening Updates

LCHS will continue to operate by appointment only for adoptions, redemptions, and incoming stray or surrendered animals.

If you find a stray and cannot reach LCHS, please call the Sheriff's Department at 715-536-6272.

If you are interested in adopting, you will need to submit the application in advance and then an appointment can be set after the applicatino is reviewed. Applications can be found in the "Documents" section of www.furrypets.com. Completed applications can be mailed to 310 N. Memorial Drive, Merrill WI 54452 or sent via email to manager@furrypets.com.

The red tote will still be outside our front door for non-monetary donations. We are always in need of Purina Dog/Cat/Kitten/Puppy chow, non-clumping cat litter, laundry detergent, and bleach.

If you adopted an animal and it still needs to be spayed or neutered, LCHS will be in contact regarding upcoming surgery dates with The Fix Is In. If you own an animal that was not adopted from LCHS and want to have it spayed or neutered through The Fix Is In, you must contact them directly at 715-256-8555.

Our volunteer program has been modified. Volunteers will now need to submit the volunteer application in advance and then LCHS will contact you to set a time to come in. Volunteers will now be assigned to work with specific animals to help guarantee each animal receives daily enrichment. Volunteer shifts will range from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the animals at the shelter and the volunteer.

Thank you again for being so kind and generous during this difficult time! If you have any questions, please call us at 715-536-3459.
